Default SUPERMAN IS IN "THE BATMAN" (...kinda)

A set photo from filming, apparently involving a Halloween party:

Heh. Maybe they’ll make an oblique reference to the “freak in Metropolis” or they’re just having some fun.

I expect that if he's not purely in the background the scene will either start as a shot on the S-shield before zooming out to reveal it's a party, or the guy's drunk and blunders through what threatens to be a particularly tense moment between Bruce and Selina (and maybe he tries to rope Bruce into a 'which one's better' discussion while Selina slinks away).

My pet theory is that this is building up to a trilogy-capping adaptation of R.I.P., because you could do that authentically while keeping it down-to-Earth. But if Superman exists? Have him shoot Darkseid and get blasted back in time to solve Caveman Crimes.

Reminds me that in my perfect world, there'd be a Superman trilogy running alongside this, similarly doing a standalone 'iconic' take that apparent upcoming changes to the DCEU would forbid there - whether All-Star style sci-fi fantasy or t-shirt and jeans - and then with zero buildup they'd have a crossover movie in-between their second features and trilogy cappers. Nothing coming out of it, no new shared universe, just a standalone crossover, because a Superman and Batman independently built to function in their own pocket universes meeting would sell the power of that more than versions designed to fit together ever could.

What if Superman is the most popular comic book superhero in The Batman universe?

Interesting. Either an actual Superman exists and that cosplayer is just dressing as him for Halloween or Superman just exists as a fictional character within the fictional reality of the movie.

Either way, this is quite something.

Maybe, just maybe, they're messing with the fans/press?

If I was directing a superhero movie, it would be dope to have alot of extras walking around dressed as dc characters that have nothing to do with the movie. Like in The Batman, have a guy in a Superman costume, someone as Kiteman, another as Zatanna, a guy as Morpheus, just a lot of crazy stuff, just for fun.

The best would be to actually bring actors that are playing those characters in other movies, like have Dwayne Johnson on set for a few days.

I doubt it, and if Superman is in this film, WB is stupid.

What Reeves said here was true...from a certain point of view.
