Looks fun, but I was distracted by how much she looked like Korra at the beginning, then how it seems they kinda ripped off Wonder Woman's theme. (or emulating at least)

I thought she looked like Kitana from Mortal Kombat. Which is not an image you want a Disney character to conjure.

Looks fun. Hope Disney doesn't bait and switch us and just dump this on Disney+ like they do with everything else.

Looks like it'll be interesting, especially with the major time jump that seems to happen.

I hope the action choreography is up to snuff.

Uhm there is a pandemic going on,Disney isn't baiting and switching anything,All their business are hemorrhaging money cruiseships, themeparks ,movies, etc. They got do things to put money in their pockets and Onward,Artemis Fowl, Mulan, Soul, etc where clearly intend for theatrical releases but Apocalypse happened.

The trailer looks surprisingly interesting what is interesting for me this looks to be aimed at slightly older young audience than their normal animated movies.

    What bait and switch???

Anyway, it looks different than most previous Pixar films so it'll be interesting to see how it does.

Default So, Kelly Marie Tran said,,,

Raya is gay. So, in the movie she has no love interest so she must be gay? There's straight singles all the time.

I don't think it was so much that she didn't have a love interest but that she felt her love interest was her female rival, if I'm understanding correctly?

I'm not sure how much subtext there is to that effect in the actual movie.

There isn't much subtext if any in the movie but that said the people who want it never need much to begin with so they are going to run with it.

As for the movie overall is very solid movie, It has strong action for Disney animated movie and good overall story. It is about 7 or 8 for me. The only downside is that this should have been a TV show it waste ton of world building in this short format.

Knowing Disney we'll get a TV show 2 or 3 years from now. Most of their animated films eventually make it to TV.
