The reaching in this thread is cringe-inducingly bad. Apocalypse is a douchebag, sure but he gave a speech about how the mutants are risking their immortality to fight for the world and people actually think that...

1) This is somehow an insult to Brian.
2) Brian would give a **** about Apocalypse insulting him.
3) Brian somehow got to this point without understanding the stakes (even though Apocalypse lays it out right in the preview)
4) Brian would walk away from a life or death struggle involving his sister.
5) Brian would walk away from a threat to the whole world.

Reading the book isn't a prerequisite to b*tch about it lol.

Cringe is Poccy acting like any mutant is actually immortal just because of some assembly line clone setup they have been running a few months and that is so fragile. Sinister has been running one of those for quite a while and it does not make humans immortal.

Cable is from a future where he’s being raised to destroy Apocalypse, a tyrant who — along with the High Lords of New Canaan — has murdered billions and made the world a very dark place. It just seems very OOC for him to suddenly be cozying up to him (“how about a pep talk, big guy?”). Really, really weird. However, there has been lots of weird behavior during Dawn of X, so I expect there’s more to that which will be revealed down the road.

Now, he did kill Apocalypse at some point in The Further Adventures of Cyclops & Phoenix. So if this “Kable” is from after that point in time, then maybe he doesn’t care because he’s already fulfilled his destiny in the future. That could explain his nonchalance here with regards to En Sabah Nur.

Apocalypse can keep that talk to himself until all mutants become Externals, able to resurrect themselves and immortal in and of themselves without the need for said assembly line. If Elixir can turn Rahne part Asgardian, he and Hope et al can make mutants into independently immortal Externals.

Not like it was relevant before Krakoa, to literally any character in Marvel, but: don't the mutants still age? If they're just save-scumming their bodies and minds and souls or whatever then theoretically they'd still age like normal humans, aside from the mutants who already didn't do that.
