Default The amazing spider-man 2014, weird numbering?

    Hi

    I just grabbed the amazing spider-man #1.1 (2014).
Can anyone explain the weird numbering in this series?

    1, 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 2-16, 16.1, 17, 17.1, 18, 18.1, 19.1, 20.1

Are they all different comics or variants, reprints?

    Thxs

    Pat

    They're different comics.

1.1-1.5 are a series set in the early days of Peter Parker's high school career.

    16.1, 17.1, 18.1, 19.1 and 20.1 are a five parter by Gerry Conway.

Marvel realized that oddly numbered issues of Amazing Spider-Man sell better than mini-series.
    Sincerely,

Only one worth reading is Gerry Conway's Spiral. Book needs talking up more.

I did like the .1 issue introducing Agent Venom.
