Default Netflix Assassin's Creed Series In The Works

Netflix is looking to build an Assassin’s Creed TV universe. The streamer has entered into a content agreement with Ubisoft to develop live-action, animated, and anime series based on the international best-selling video game franchise.
The first series in development is as an epic, genre-bending live-action adaptation. The series, executive produced by Ubisoft Film & Television’s Jason Altman and Danielle Kreinik, is looking for a showrunner.

“We’re excited to partner with Ubisoft and bring to life the rich, multilayered storytelling that Assassin’s Creed is beloved for,” said Peter Friedlander, VP, Original Series, Netflix. “From its breathtaking historical worlds and massive global appeal as one of the best selling video game franchises of all time, we are committed to carefully crafting epic and thrilling entertainment based on this distinct IP and provide a deeper dive for fans and our members around the world to enjoy.”

I'm curious what era they choose to focus on.

I think a serialized TV series will work to the series' strengths better than a movie did.

They’ll need an amazing show runner to capture the excitement of holding down A and pushing the stick to move toward icons on a map.

Another thing the movie did wrong was kind of that it focused too much on the modern day aspects of the franchise-which are some of the weaker aspects of the games (Although the Desmond stuff was decent)-so much that the novel adaptations of the series skip over them completely.

I think it should be animation mainly. Not live-action.

AC as a franchise is too specific to what games do for it to be translated to a live-action medium. The lore and other stuff isn't interesting on itself, nor is the MD to work either.

Apart from the movie there's been some other AC productions that are kind of separate from the games (although they function sort of as ads)-there's the youtube short film that's a prequel to II, and a CG short film, Embers, which wraps up Ezio's story and also is a bit of a tie-in for one of the shorter side-scrolling AC games.

Speaking of which, apart from the side-scrollers the series has never really explored the far East.

Give me Ezio please. I have no interest in them doing alot with the present day stuff. Do the bare minimum with the present and the Itzu/Precursors stuff.

If they did use Ezio kind of curious what actor they would use, and-like Fassbender-if it would be the same as Desmond (If they tackle that angle as well). Although their voices were all different, Canadian model Francisco Randaz was the face model for Altair, Ezio and Desmond but doesn't seem to have any major acting experience.

Not sure if Bell would want to be Lucy again, although it'd be cool if John De Lancie was William Miles since with the beard he kind of looks like the character game model anyway.

For ezio the guy who played Jigsaw on the Netflix Punisher show could look the part. But honestly I have no instant idea of who would be good for the role.
