What was your favorite "event" - not including COIE?

I'm particularly interested in the opinions of those who read real-time, rather than much later, but all opinions are welcome. I excluded COIE because I, at least, perceive it at the first, the game-change, the beginning of DC having these kinds of events and so it's weighted heavily. Plus I thought it won in a previous discussion?

Sinestro Corps War. It wasn't a bloated mess with a dozen different tie-ins, crossovers, and supplement mini's, the characters didn't take a back seat to the plot, there were proper emotional stakes and development instead of a lot of empty bluster that amounted to nothing....if more Events were structured and of the quality of Sinestro Corps War I'd read them a lot more often!

There's been a few.
DC One Million was a blast.
So was Sinestro Corps War and Zero Hour (mostly as the tie in issues were almost all a great read!)

I don't think I've actively read enough events to really say to be honest (I should read some sometime soon) but if I had to pick one I'd probably say Forever Evil or Endgame; but if I'm gonna be honest, if they pull off Future State that could end up being my personal favorite. My first instinct was to go with Sinestro Corps War or Blackest Night but I feel like I enjoy Johns' War of Light saga as a whole more than I like particularly any one of the individual events in it. Forever Evil was probably one of the most fun to read event storylines i've read and it's the one of the stories that made me a fan of Black Manta (and a lot of DC's villains). Endgame was the event that got me into comics tho, and I love the eerie atmosphere and the way that story builds toward Metal; but unlike Johns' saga, Snyder's Metal/Death Metal saga was more hit or miss in the grand scheme of things for me.

those are the two in the running but this makes me wanna dig back and read a couple event stories so I can revisit this question more informed.

Invasion probably. It had Vril Dox, Captain Atom, and Adam Strange as the main characters instead of the usual Trinity. And done way better than the CW version.

Forever Evil is another one I really enjoyed.

It depends, I think Final Crisis might be the "Best" event and I enjoy a ton. But if Im bored and just want to a DC event comic to entertain myself I usually for Blackest Night.

I don't really consider Sinestro Corps war a full on event, more a Green Lantern storyline that got a few tie ins but it'd be up there too if I did.

For the last decade? Forever Evil. Just a damn fun book.
