Some original makeup tests of Majel also had her with alien makeup as well.

Also see it a bit with Data, in the first two seasons he seems somewhat more emotional (Not counting the episode where he's taken over by the scientist though). For example, THE ROYALE-where the landing party gets stuck in a Casino recreated from the novel of a dead astronaut-during the game he makes several smirks and hand gestures. Also in the first two episodes he smiles a bit and is affected by the virus. Although in some cases this can be Data just attempting to mimic emotions rather than feel them, as we see with him trying to imitate an Admiral's "small talk" a few seasons later.

Regarding Spock, in some of the movies he seems to come across as a bit more relaxed and less stoic, especially in the Meyer ones and the reboot (Spock Prime, that is). Some fans see this as deliberate, a result of Spock coming to terms with his human side after mind-melding with V'ger in TMP and appearing more emotional for the rest of the film (lauging, holding hands with Kirk, crying about V'ger).

Also from Rosanne, David/Kevin's older brother, Mark. While Mark was not portrayed as a good student, in the beginning he was a typical, cocky teenager with average intelligence. As the series progressed he became dumber and dumber.

How did I not think of this before? One of my favorite characters.

Carol Peletier on The Walking Dead. She started off as a mousey wife abused by her husband. By seasons 3 & 4 see her becoming more competent and able to handle a weapon, and making very difficult decisions. Season 5 saw her turn into a bad-ass, rescuing people from Terminus, being active in fighting the Wolves, going "undercover" as meek to fool the leaders of Alexandria, spends some time as a loner, then has a relationship with the King Ezekiel, becoming reckless and careless with her desire for revenge against Alpha, and now is back to being a level-headed member of the community.

Although slow and gradual, Vegeta went from psychopathic world destroyer to powerful ally in the DBZ (and continued into Super).

The core Seinfeld characters except Jerry actually did change a bit compared to the show's beginning.

George was always neurotic, but he didn't have that major loser persona right away. He was steadily employed, lived on his own, etc. It wasn't until he lost the realtor job he started with at the beginning of the show that he turned into into the familiar George Costanza.

Kramer began as a shut-in. Implied he never left his apartment, dressed in a robe and PJs. He was still a mooch, but not nearly the adventurous and mischievous trickster who had puzzling good luck with the ladies and always with multiple get-rich-quick schemes going on (though we did get one taste of that early on with his Make-Your-Own-Pizza-Pie idea).

Elaine started as pretty much just a female version of Jerry, a straight girl. The laughs there was more dependet on their specific dynamic as exes. Wasn't till later she developed her own quirks like her ne'er do well nature with men, a quasi-antagonistic relationship with George, and a mean-streak.

Joey on friends started out a lot smarter than he became latter on. He was not a genius early on but he seemed to have a lot of street smarts. As the show went on he got dumber and dumber.

I saw an interview with Spiner where he said that Data's gradual transformation was a deliberate decision by Roddenberry, and the writing team kept up with the arc. I really liked the evolution, and so was no fan of the "emotion chip" contrivance later on. I wanted to see Data evolve in his own way, like when he discovered his potential to dream; (eta) it was something programmed into him, but he had to grow into it.
