Some original makeup tests of Majel also had her with alien makeup as well.
Also see it a bit with Data, in the first two seasons he seems somewhat more emotional (Not counting the episode where he's taken over by the scientist though). For example, THE ROYALE-where the landing party gets stuck in a Casino recreated from the novel of a dead astronaut-during the game he makes several smirks and hand gestures. Also in the first two episodes he smiles a bit and is affected by the virus. Although in some cases this can be Data just attempting to mimic emotions rather than feel them, as we see with him trying to imitate an Admiral's "small talk" a few seasons later.
Regarding Spock, in some of the movies he seems to come across as a bit more relaxed and less stoic, especially in the Meyer ones and the reboot (Spock Prime, that is). Some fans see this as deliberate, a result of Spock coming to terms with his human side after mind-melding with V'ger in TMP and appearing more emotional for the rest of the film (lauging, holding hands with Kirk, crying about V'ger).
