Why not. Hope was near her body at one point to be able to copy her powers. That means they could have gotten her brain Ingram for lack of better word and her DNA then

The DNA thing would be if Sinister had a sample. The back-up to Cerebro would be easier.

Didn't Jean kill this guy by "turning off" his mind?

Stopped his heart, IIRC, but yeah, she smote him dead.

Which is odd, since she should have been able to just force him to eject the people he was absorbing, even if he didn't consciously know how to do that. (Since it's a safe bet he didn't consciously know *how to stop his own heart* and she figured that out tout suite.)

It's like the whole scenario was narratively set up so that she'd look like she *had* to kill the guy, but the writer didn't do the math.

I thought her body was just on life-support. But even if she's dead, the DNA exists.

The whole replication process of Dawn of X seems to basicly go with the idea that Sinister somehow had the DNA of practically any mutant who lived in the past 100 years, even of those who shouldn't have had any DNA anymore since becoming mutants and those who should have been out of his reach.

Likely to get as many dead characters back without having to come up with too many explanations.

Though it would be interesting to know if he actualy refused to keep certain mutants DNA for personal reason. Like refusing those of any Morlocks created by Dark Beast because of them being made with immitations of his technology, or Gene Nation members for being "inpure".

During X-force's attempt at stealing her (with one member headbutting the plane she was on and blowing it up), her mind died but her body was still alive in the life support pod. When said pod was placed close to the comatose Hope, she begann to instinctly copy her powers and took her identity for a while.
