Default Spider-Man Single Issue Stories Popularity Contest

Spider-Man has had plenty of great one-shot stories throughout his long history, from The Kid Who Collects Spider-Man by Roger Stern to Maybe Next Year by Paul Jenkins. So, I thought it would be fun to do a bit of a popularity contest where we vote for our favorites.

I made a bracket of 48 stories and I'll post a matchup everyday (or so). The only rules were that the main character of the issue must be Peter Parker (or the story needs to be part of a Peter Parker-centric title) and that the story can be no longer than one issue. I tried to pick a good variety of the major ones and a few more obscure cuts to mix it up a bit.

With that said, we can all vote for which one we like more and see which is the most popular of all. If you haven't read one or both issues for a round, please either skip the voting for that round or take some time to read the issues you missed and then vote - after all, these are all great stories (which is why they were picked).

Did you read my mind? Great list! My only additions would be Spectacular Spider-Man 310 by Zdarsky and Peter Parker: Spider-Man 20 by Paul Jenkins.

To not derail the thread - I’ll vote for Spider-Man 2099 meets Spider-Man.

    I love DeFalco but I’ll vote for Spider-Man 2099 meets Spider-Man.

I love Miguel way too much.

Anyways I'll close this round here; my vote also goes to SM2099 meets SM.

My vote goes to ASM 801 - I think FNSM 11 was a real fun issue but ASM 801 is better just because I like how it looks at how every single one of Peter's heroic deeds is just as important as saving the world to someone.

I adore MJ and that one was an excellent issue.

That said, ASM #801 is a story that perfectly captures the timeless spirit of the character while at the same time directly speaking to the reader.

    I vote ASM #801.
