I wouldn't say this is Guile tanking that hit, exactly, but the fact that he's still conscious afterward demonstrates this is likely his maximum capacity for damage soak in canon.

Crap. I forgot Gaia is from the Motobe school, and that old man was even more brutal than Retsu Kaioh! What he did to Yanagi and Jack, was nothing short of sadistic.

I can see Gaia just running all over the place getting Guile to chase him around, then he chucks a rock that blinds Guile in one eye and screws his depth perception. Just for fun. Then he gets serious, goes all Predator and shoots out Guile's kneecaps, forcing him to look for a place to sit. Lo and behold there is, for some unknown reason, a sofa in the middle of the battlefield...

It depends who play Guile. If it's COVID! Daigo, Guile will stomp Gaia so hard it's not even funny. His Guile defeat Tokido Akuma after all.

Interesting. Gaia's well below the elite in terms of stats in Baki, but he's a "dirty" fighter. Guile on the otherhand should be comparable to people like Chun-li, which puts him strength and durability above Gaia. It probably comes down to whther or not Sonic boom works, and if Guile is bullet proof or not.
