Is that a challenge for running a Liefeld cover contest?

And now I have an idea for another theme: feet.

The best I’ve ever seen Liefeld’s work look was the 1988 Hawk & Dove mini series, inked by Karl Kesel. Kesel really smoothed out Liefeld’s rough edges and made his exaggerated musculature exceptionally good.

OMG, I can't believe I didn't think of this earlier! I am so not a fan of John Byrne's art. Where do I begin? The saggy "realistic" costumes; I especially hate his FF (Reed looks like a skinny dufus, Sue looks plain); the horizontal slashes that pass for mouths; those awful round eyes he gives his women; yuck!

However, I absolutely love this particular cover -- Byrne does a great job homaging a classic cover by John Buscema.

This contest has reminded how different everyone's taste is. Oh well, chacun à son goût, I suppose.

CaptCleghorn for the sheer WTFery of the cover. Honourable mention to foxley for great use of shadows.
