Thing is stronger and more durable. Kratos is the better fighter of the two. Advantage to the rock man but this fight is going to take a while either way.
GoW4 Kratos also has a very significant healing factor, for what it's worth in terms of longevity.
Does not Kratos also have magical weapons that can strike at long range?
Is Kratos allowed to use his magic and armor powers? If so then even unarmed he beats Thing.
Also he does have a speed/agility advantage as his fight with a giant dragon had him leaping upward from Boulder to Boulder in mid air while falling and dodgeing attacks which would take more than average speed imo.
Considering that it takes only a few seconds for him to go from "bruised and bloodied" to "completely fine", I'd call it quite significant, actually. And he does it multiple times, once in the middle of the fight, and once after.
It's obviously not on the level of Alucard, but that's a very high bar for even fictional characters, so that's not really saying much.
should be noted that even with his healing, kratos was still very winded in his fight with balder. (at one point in the first first, he was controlling much slower than he normal controls). so it's possible to wear him out. and ben usually throws down with guys much stronger than him, so i'm not sure kratos could beat him down to a ten-count.
Do we consider Balder's feat of one shoting the World Serpent something Kratos could do too? Is that around the same strength as the temple flip, the mountain sized dragon battle, and causing a massive canyon from struggling with Balder ?

Regarding the Temple Flip (and the earlier Temple Spin), there is a bit of a big asterisk in the form of the temple having elaborate mechanisms in place to let it flip/spin. Like, it almost certainly still required insanely superhuman strength, but probably nowhere near as much as it would take to have to have done those feats without machine assistance. Heck, in the case of the flip, he couldn't even do that feat until after he got rid of the chains that were holding the mechanisms in place, and those chains were not something that were especially difficult for him to break just by throwing his Leviathan Axe, IIRC.
Also, I don't recall any mountain sized dragons. The two dragons he fought were explicitly much smaller than the mountains that he was on top of when he fought them, with the first one even being first encountered within the tunnels of said mountain. (EDIT: That said, his stats were on par with Baldur's, and Baldur sent the mountain-sized Jormungandr reeling with his attacks off screen.)
Also, was it just me or did that canyon just seem to disappear for no apparent reason when you returned to Kratos' home later on?
