Default Actors Who Never Played Spider-Man, But Who Would've Been Good Casting Choices

This thread is inspired by the debate going on about the face of Insomniac's Spider-man--

Who do you think could or could've played a good Spider-Man?

I think a young Rob Lowe LITERALLY would've been an amazing Spider-man.

Rob Lowe is way too pretty for Peter Parker.

I've seen Michael J. Fox's and Matthew Broderick's names thrown around a lot. A young Tom Hanks probably would've been a solid choice too.

Young Ryan would have been great.

Logan Lerman from the Percy Jackson movies I think could have been a good Peter/Spidey

I grew up with the 90's Spider-man cartoon, and he was "pretty."

He was modeled after the first actor to play Peter Parker in live action: Nicholas Hammond. But even Nicholas Hammond wasn't Rob Lowe level pretty.

Ron Frenz once said that '80s Tom Hanks (around the time of BIG, Joe versus the Volcano, Splash, The Burbs) would have been a great Peter Parker.

Around 2000s, I'd say Ryan Reynolds. To me Reynolds always struck me as the best Peter Parker there never was. Somehow opportunity, both for actor, and for Spider-Man, passed each other like ships in the night.

Huh. Didn't know that, but I agree.

Tom Hanks and Geena Davis. 80s Peter Parker and Mary Jane.

Frenz said that he tends to cast Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson as the older Peter and MJ in his Spider-Girl comics.

Interesting. Rita is a great choice as well for MJ.

Reynolds almost played Wally West, but the Flash movie was trapped in development hell.

He'd be a much better Wally than he was a Hal.
