OK we're back. What later Silver Age titles would you resurrect and what would you do with them? Pick as many as you like.
I'm kind of indifferent to these choices. I voted for 80 PAGE GIANT, INFERIOR FIVE and DC SPECIAL, but I don't have much faith in the publisher doing these justice. But oh well let's see what they can do. With Plastic Man, I love the character, but D.C. has never done very well by him--nothing really lives up to the work of Jack Cole. The thought of yet another kick at the cat fills me with dread.
I voted for Beware the Creeper and Secret Six.
Beware the Creeper could fit well into the polarized American political system and news media. Jack Ryder as a loose cannon freelance web persona would be free to investigate and find all sorts of interesting and quirky folks and groups.
Secret Six would work great as a series of limited series. Varieties of teams and settings with one of the participants as the mysterious Mockingbird brings drama and plot twists to a personal level without constant multiversal rewrites.
This was harder for me too. Eventually went with 80-PAGE GIANT, HAWKMAN, METAMORPHO, The SPECTRE & DC SPECIAL.
I would like to see a new version of Anthro, but considering the more modern knowledge about prehuistoric time.
"Never assign to malice what is adequately explained by stupidity or ignorance."
"Great stories will always return to their original forms"
"Nobody is more dangerous than he who imagines himself pure in heart; for his purity, by definition, is unassailable." James Baldwin
My vote went to Doom Patrol (the original). Truly an underrated classic...
DOOM PATROL is the outright favorite here, chosen by a majority of voters. DC SPECIAL and THE SPECTRE are in second and third place. In last place with not a single vote are HAWK AND DOVE, BROTHER POWER THE GEEK and THE WITCHING HOUR.
Didn't they already bring back Hawkman and Inferior Five?
Anyway, I wouldn't mind seeing The Secret Six come back as a straight forward espionage book. The book is about cyber warfare, ISIS, black money, american terrorists, chemical warfare, etc. Characters are allowed to occasionally die, but maybe establish that Mockingbird is a revolving title...a particular person might be MB for a few missions, but someone else ( or seems to be in order to throw people off) is for a different mission, but we're never sure what really going on.
