Morrison has written the definitive modern take on Hal for me so I went with them but I have to give credit to Johns where it's due, for bringing Hal and the Corps back, making Sinestro a really great villain and the sheer amount of world-building that took place in the build-up to Blackest Night.

The Englehart run I used to hold in high regard up until some time ago but having gone back and re-read it recently, it's really patchy. Some great work with John and the Corps but the Hal/Arisia and the Carol/Predator angles don't really hold up very well.

Ron Marz. His run is a great jumping-in point on GL and the greater DC Universe. We have not seen anything like that again.
