    Fraction/Zdarsky for sure.
Wait isn't Spencer mostly responsible for the current Taskmaster characterization we have? I very rarely check in on monthly Marvel so I could be wrong.

I think Duggan is the only one that's actually made me laugh at times.

That would be Gerry Duggan who started the trend IIRC.

Dan Slott. Both his Spider-Man and She-Hulk runs showed that he can write legitimately funny comics.

    Nick Spencer.

    Brian Michael Bendis.

Christopher Hastings. Underrated in everything he does.

So Gerry Duggan is who I blame for no longer enjoying Taskmaster.

Dan Slott's Great Lake Avengers and Peter David's run on Young Justice are my two favorite 'funny' comics runs.

Stan Lee was funny. That was probably the biggest thing he brought to the table, with his one-liners and self-deprecating captions and the running gags in the credits. A lot of writers have tried to imitate his corny sense of humor but it's harder to imitate than it looks.

He hasn't really done any work for Marvel, but Mark Russell is really good at this.

The reason why I made this thread is because funny writers were rare because if you really had to be funny if you were going to try it. Nowadays, it's a given that the writers are going to make jokes. The problem is not everyone is funny.

And most of them are soooo bad. It's like being trapped in an elevator with someone who keeps laughing at their own unfunny jokes. Jed Mackay's first issue of Taskmaster really drove this home.
