Figured since there's been ones for the other major DC characters I'd make one for here, so who do you think is the best Wonder Woman writer?

Pretty much ditto. Rucka first, then Perez, with Jimenez close behind. Orlando is probably next in my list, he just hasn't had enough freedom from restraint to truly show it. But that Mayfly prison issue sure is a great mission statement for his Diana to me.
Yeah I'm going with Rucka, though it's very close between him and Jimenez. After them, I'd probably put Perez and Marston as equally good for their respective eras and their ideas for the character. Joy Murchison also deserves major props as she ghost wrote some of the best GA issues, including Villainy Inc and the Queen Atomia issue.
Gail is the only person who, I think, understood Diana and showed her depth, power, and humor while still making her relatable.
George Perez.
Yeah I’m old school, but he laid out the blueprint on how to do WW right when he brought her into the Post Crisis DC universe.
Greg Rucka, IMO.
"So you've come to the end now alive but dead inside."
Phil Jimenez is my #1 pick followed by John Byrne, Steve Orlando, Greg Rucka, and George Perez.
Currently(or soon to be) Reading: Alan Scott: Green Lantern, Batman/Superman: World's Finest, Fire & Ice: Welcome to Smallville, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Jay Garrick: The Flash, Justice Society of America, Power Girl, Superman, Shazam, Titans, Wesley Dodds: Sandman, Wonder Woman, & World's Finest: Teen Titans.
Good deal, and that’s fair.
I know I mentioned in a different thread I’d love to see Perez come back for another run as a writer, teamed w. a fitting artist. It’d be interesting to see what he’d come up with given what’s been done w. the character since his run so long ago.
Does the poll set-up limit you to only 15 options? I know there’s “Other”, but where’s the love by name check for the Bronze Age writers? LOL
“You see…the rest of them are soldiers. But [Wonder Woman] is an artist.”
I only support the made of clay origin.
I'd rank them as such:
- Marston (and Murchison)
- Rucka
- Perez
- Jimenez
- Orlando
- Conway
- Messner-Loebs
- Simone
- Wilson
- Azzarello
- Byrne
- Tamaki
- Straczynski (and Hester)
- O'Neil
- Kanigher
- Robinson
- Finch
