Default Joelle Jones is writing/drawing a Yara Wonder Girl mini

I’m really excited for this. I’ve wanted Jones on Wonder Woman for a long time. Hopefully this is just an audition for her to take over the main title. Maybe woo Steve Orlando to come back and co-write it with her.

It being a limited series instead of an ongoing is an assumption on their part. All we know for sure is that there'll be a Wonder Girl comic by Joelle Jones.

I wonder if she'll have a different costume as Wonder Girl.

I’m glad she will stick around in the wonder verse. I want her to have a good relationship with donna and Cassie.

The teal is throwing the whole costume off and making it look decidedly non-Wonderiffic, with a different color combination I'd like it more.

It matches the feathers of the Brazilian Teal, which is a bird that I’m assuming is where they’re getting the color combo from.

Are there any myth of river god’s spirit for her birth we know of?

Well, Yara is a mermaid who lives in the amazon river in our folklore. Her name in the Iuara indigenous language means "that who lives in the water".

I don't remember any river god, we actually don't have any gods in our folklore that i'm aware of.

We do have the "Boto cor-de-rosa" that is a really wierd myth of a creature that looks like a Pink Dolphin and can shapeshit into a man to mate with single women. Maybe that's her Father?

The issue becomes how far from Wonder Woman do you go until they have no connection

Well that explains the name at least.
I hope she has the ability to run on water or something like that, seeing wonder woman ride lightning recently made realize that thease amazon should be doing god like things

With Yara around I might as well say good bye to having Maria Mendoza in continuity. Guessing Yara is getting powers from the Mayan gods/goddesses considering her amazon tribes location. Hoping she was a full grown woman at this point so Cassie can keep the wondergirl title, though its not like she did much with it in recent times.

So we have Diana, Donna, Nubia, Peng, and Yara as the "amazon round table" so to speak with Cassie as the youngest member/trainee.
