I'm a sucker for villains, so I went Pornstache. Favorite inmate would be Lorna, genuinely nice when she's not being all stalker-ey.

    Inspired by CS Towle:

    a) who is your favourite inmate?
    b) who is your favourite faculty?
    c) who's backstory/flashbacks did you enjoy most?
    d) what part of someone's backstory/flashback do you most want to find out?
    e) what moment most had you on your feet, squealing in shock?

Pornstache is such a great villain. To be fair, I think everyone is wonderful in their own way; and everyone serves a purpose. I love how the show makes you loath or love a character, then instantly flips it, and suddenly you don't know how to feel. I've got three episodes left of Season 2, then I'm all caught up. Can't wait!!!

    I covered a and b, so I'll say:

C- Susanne's background was the most interesting to me, and among the saddest (though Lorna's reveal was heartbreaking as well).
D- I'd like to know more about young Alex.
E- It'd be a spoiler, but to be vague about it I figured out what was going to happen to end the season finale about 5 minutes before it happened and just the thought of it got me excited (a little predictable, but if it's something you want to see really badly that's not such a bad thing). To be more specific, it involves Rosa (the one with cancer, had to google her name).

some missing choices from the poll (granted, there are a LOT of choices)

Brooke Soso - the chatterbox Asian prisoner who starts the hunger strike
Rosa Cisneros - the cancer patient who plays an important role in the season finale
Carrie "Big Boo" Black - the heavyset lesbian who is part of the contest to see who gets laid the most.
Yoga Jones - part of the hunger strike
Sister Jane Ingalls - the nun who is shown to develop into somewhat of an egomaniac in her life prior to prison.
Black Cindy - the heavyset black woman who worked for TSA prior to imprisonment.

Of these, Back Cindy, Sister Jane, and Rosa Cisneros had flashback scenes during seaon 2.

THat's not including Flaca and Maritza (the latinas working in the kitchen) or the "Golden Girls", or the prison staff (Fig, Caputo, Healey, etc.)

To answer the poll, I would have to say my favorite for season 2 is either Red or Rosa Cisneros. But its a very tough call, Pensatucky is a close 3rd. This show has a large cast and most are great.

I will say I am sick of the Dayanara pregnancy subplot (which reminds me, her mother is another cast member worth noting). Also sick of Alex Vause.

I used to LOVE Crazy Eyes... but after what she did, I just don't forgive her. She needs to seriously redeem herself/show remorse!

Oooooooooooh, pre-Piper Alex would be awesome! I liked that bit about her dad the "rock star".

I cheered and high-five'd my housemate straight after!!!!

Not missing; there is a limit (15) of poll choices; so I picked the 15 I guessed would be the most important/popular. It is such a brilliant cast, it was very hard to guessed-a-mate.

THANK-YOU! I really enjoyed the story in Season 1, but LORD Dayanara is just so... blah in Season 2. Her demands are ridiculous/stupid/idealist. I still can't tell if it's the actress or the character. The same is true of Larry, I disliked how "selfrighteous" he was EVEN at the end. Ugh.

And lastly... some fun fan art...

I get being mad at Crazy-Eyes/Susanne, but the way I see it she's just looking for love and acceptance. I can't blame her for being manipulated by someone who clearly does nothing but, to people who have far fewer and less serious issues than Susanne does.

Started watching this show for 2 weeks now and love it. At first I was hesitant to watch it but am really glad I decided to. Even my brothers, who thought that this show looked rubbish at first, like it as well! It's very entertaining, and I love every character.

Regarding who the best character is, it's very hard to choose. Crazy eyes is easily the most funny ; she steals pretty much every scene she gets.
I look around at us and you know what I see? Losers... I mean like, folks who have lost stuff. And we have, man, we have, all of us. Homes, and our families, normal lives. And you think life takes more than it gives, but not today. Today it's giving us something. It is giving us a chance.

    end of spoilers
Just because I don't want to spoil anything for Danger965
    spoilers:
For me it's about penance and loss. Both Healey and Pensatuckey suffer and fail. Lose meaningful things; so their redemption is worth it/meanings something (which is why I think both are redeemed). It's a fair penance/trade for their actions. Crazy hasn't apologised, she hasn't lost anything besides Vee (and that's hardly a loss, it's actually a GOOD thing). She hasn't really even shown remorse. I just need to see her penance/she needs to lose.
    end of spoilers

The actress does an amazing job; she deserved her EMMY for the role.

Thanks! Am halfway through the second season now, and don't want it to end!
I never knew that. But it can see why; she's very talented.

With the release of SEASON 3; now is the perfect time to bump this thread. Remember, please put anything in "spoiler" tags. Some of us will try and watch it one episode a week... then get sucked in and bomb through in a weekend, mwwwhahahahaha!

"We are Shakespeare. We are Michelangelo. We are Tchaikovsky. We are Turing. We are Mercury. We are Wilde. We are Lincoln, Lorca, Leonardo da Vinci. We are Alexander the Great. We are Fredrick the Great. We are Rustin. We are Addams. We are Marsha! Marsha Marsha Marsha! We so generous, we DeGeneres. We are Ziggy Stardust hooked to the silver screen. Controversially we are Malcolm X. We are Plato. We are Aristotle. We are RuPaul, god dammit! And yes, we are Woolf."

Really thought I was going to be in the minority voting Pornstache as my favorite character lmao. But anyway, this season had a wack ending the whole season felt like 1 big filler episode after another. Definitely the weakest of the 3. There was some episodes I enjoyed like spoilers:
    the granny panty episode
end of spoilers that was funny. I feel like we needed a main bad guy again like Vee but maybe they didnt want to feel repetitive

This show is so refreshing as far as character-based storytelling goes. It stands out from a lot of other shows that way-- instead of "Here's a plot point, how do we get our characters to it?", Orange is the New Black's events all feel very organic and true to the characters. Season 3 was no different.

    Loved the spoilers:
    Mendoza/Sophia conflict
end of spoilers towards the end of the season. Very nuanced, very realistic-- both of them made mistakes and crossed lines, with neither of them being really clean-cut in the wrong, and neither of them being painted as the villain or hero. I think it was a very well-written conflict.

I'm also SO looking forward to seeing where the spoilers:
    Suzanne/Don't-Know-Her-Name and Poussey/So-So
end of spoilers romances go next season. And I honestly loved the final scene. SO beautiful. That's quality stuff right there; so many stories furthered with hardly any dialogue.
