It is confusing with all of the new names. But it helps to think of each place having an opposite parallel version:
- Earth and Amenth are worlds
- Krakoa and Arakko are islands on the worlds
- Avalon and Dryador are Otherworld realms that were conquered by mutants
The Hellions had to travel from Krakoa (Earth) to Avalon (Otherworld) to Dryador (Otherworld) to Arakko (Amenth) and then back again.
The inherent problem with mutants is such varied power sets. Specifically, there too many telepaths, which is already innately an overpowered power set. Heck, if Professor Xavier can detect Franklin Xavier (in the latest Fantastic Four issue) think about Krakoa, then essentially telepaths can do anything.
Even if none of the minds of the mutants who made it back to Krakoa were backed up, them being attacked by Sinister should have been detected by someone. The smoke he used blocks cameras, but someone on the island should be able to detect the strong emotional state of being murdered by Sinister.
Agreed. Magneto’s magnetism is usually correctly portrayed, but telepaths are constantly neutered and requires suspension of disbelief. The worst is how an untrained Red Skull with Prof X’s brain is a world threatening menace, yet the good guys telepaths are all easily overcome (here with Sinister’s lies and manipulation, and in the past with all enemies coming equipped with mental protection)
That's cause ubiquitous telepathy is a crappy power that writers just love throwing around with no regard.
It's diet Reality Warping, which is also a power that would suck if not restricted to the barest minimum of characters.
Can we talk about Manny’s mini beard??

Since many characters have protection against telepaths, its no surprise that it seems downplayed. Mystique and Gambit are just a few characters that could give 2 craps about a telepath....why would Sinister (a man who has made telepaths and knows strengths and weaknesses to the power) be exempt?
