But in the Avatar verse the moon is a fish. They are simply not on the same wavelengths, and Marvel distinguishes between Torch's psuedo science techno babble derived powers, and Zuko's mystical mumbo jumbo derived powers. There's no reason to think that Torch would act like the Avatar sun.

Bending is magic, one could just as easily argue that Zuko should have reduced powers in the arena because he's not under his own sun.
