According to the preview for issue #10, Doom will finally come face to face with his alternate Earth counterpart. Part of me wishes that they had worked more assiduously to streamline the story, so that we get more than one issue of that interaction. Something tells me that is going to be one for the ages.

I have to go to the comic shop yet and will start a review thread later. But as to what you say about the streamlining, it appears that was out of Cantwell's control. Remember, Marvel did promote this as an ongoing and then a little thing called a pandemic came along and it went out of publication after the March issue and didn't return until September.
And Cantwell discussed what the second arc would be about in an interview and it's a shocker. I will put it in the Doom thread.
