Default I hit the old magazine Lottery

My uncle was cleaning out his basement and garage of old stuff he no longer needed/wanted/was taking up room. He found several old boxes of old magazines that belonged to his son. He was about to get rid of them to the trash heap but remembered I was into a lot of nerd stuff so he called me to check them out. I went not expecting much and boy was I wrong. I hit a freaken jackpot!

156 issues of old Nintendo Power Magazines,
    165 issues of Wizard Magazine
    221 issues of Dungeon magazine
    430 issues of Dragons magazine.

It was so many boxes I had to clear a ton of space in my old garage. It is going to take me months to read through all these. I am super excited.

I think this is my first step in becoming a hoarder Look for me on a future A&E special.

It is for sure a lottery for me as I loved all of these magazines growing up. Some of them are doubles. But I am going to enjoy the Hell out of reading them.

What are they about? Marvel, DC or some other company?

Nintendo magazine was put out by Nintendo and had game reviews, tips tricks and cheats.
Wizard was a magazine that talked about Comics and the comic book industry.
Knights of the Dinner table was a magazine that had game articles. mostly for Dnd and fantasy games. And a comic with a group of nerds playing Dnd
Dungeon was a Dnd magazine with scenarios, tips and game resources.
    Dragons was the same.

This is a huge nerd treasure trove

Yeah. Major difference was that Dragon was player-submitted custom rules and general D&D material (some other games from TSR, as well). Dungeon focused on player-submitted adventures.

Nice find! I moved my Dragon collection to digital a long time ago.

I am going to do this. I have a crap ton of time for the rest of the month. I am going to scan them and all the Nintendo Power issues onto my PC.

    I'm glad I'm not you.

I got too much to do and there's no way I could resist wallowing in all that Dragons.

I know. I (always) have way too much to do and way too little time to do it in!

In the days before the internet, Wizard was a pretty cool magazine to get. There are lots of interviews with the pros, some previews, etc. I think I had the issue that previewed Heroes Reborn. I think the company still runs the Wizard conventions. I believe there was one in Chicago last year anyway. IIRC they also had a magazine called Toyfair at one time, which featured Twisted Toyfair Theater

Yes Wizard and Toyfare were run by the same people. Twisted Toyfare was the best. I mean anyone who has not read it. The best line from it came from Hal Jordan Green lantern when The penguin was invading Justice league Hq with an Army of Penguins.
