Default A thread in appreciation of Kaiju & Monsters

I've been inexplicably struck with the weirdest Godzilla and Kaiju fixation. I'm not sure if monsters (they don't need to explicitly be Kaijus) are a big niche in DC so I'm mainly creating a space where we can celebrate any monster characters that may be out there and I can learn more about them.

I know DC has Swamp Thing as their premier horror "Monster" character, and I know of Congorilla but I don't know much about him.

THE SIGNAL (Duke Thomas) is DC's secret shonen protagonist so I made him a fandom wiki

also, check out "The Signal Tape" a Duke Thomas fan project.

    currently following:
    • DC: Red Hood: The Hill
    • Marvel: TBD
    • Manga (Shonen/Seinen): One Piece, My Hero, Dandadan, Jujutsu Kaisen, Kaiju No. 8, Reincarnation of The Veteran Soldier, Oblivion Rouge, ORDEAL, The Breaker: Eternal Force

well Kaiju really are just giant monsters, typically ones that attack large populations of people, so I'm pretty sure Starro counts.

While the Batfam held off its rampage with steel wires, Nightwing jumped inside its mouth, found and grabbed its heart, a baby monster that Hugo Strange created because he psychoanalyzed Batman as a scared child using an intimidating identity just like this monster.

Well the Wildstorm stuff i technically DC, so there's Planetary #2, which deals with Kaiju...

and not quite Kaiju, but an homage to Kaiju on the cover of Justice League Europe #14

though Animal-Vegetable-Mineral Man should qualify as a Kaiju...

but your best bet is to look at some of the Silver Age sci-fi books (like Strange Adventures, check out #21 and #50 in particular)

The Creature Commandos. Basically DC's Darkstalkers.

DC's Scare Tactics. Not familiar with them but I'd like to see more of them in future.
