Congrats to nx01a.
And thanks to ed2962 for the vote. I knew an opera adaptation was going to be a hard sell.

Congratulations nx10a, now I really regret suggesting you replace your first cover. I regret more that I voted for the new one.
I am now asking for contributions to form a legal team to get a recount.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!
Congrats nx01a!
Btw I misspoke earlier, I do not have 2 copies of what I posted (Lorna Doone Classics Illustrated comic). I checked and my two copies are actually the earlier Classic Comics edition of this comic, before it rebranded itself as Classics Illustrated. The later CI issue used the same great Baker cover though!

I regret not having found or read the actual Gladiator novel, but I haven't looked for it in years. Perhaps for my bucket list.
And now, what the captain has learned in this contest's peak of the week! Going back to the Classic Illustrated series, we have many adaptations of books, movies, and TV shows. Most were extensions of work done in other media and those were verboten in this contest, but using a concept in comics to expand a franchise seems to be a very viable tactic.
And I've seen enough Universal horror movies to know that Frankenstein is not dead and that book will rise again.
Thanks go out to Nschornhorst for the honorable mention.
