Where in my explanation did I mention Beast's tendency to be amoral or immoral as a problem? I don't care that he's not a goody two-shoes. That's the point. If there's going to be an X-Men team that puts their righteousness and values above the wellbeing of their nation, that means the QC needs become the foil to that hero team. Storm, Kurt and Kitty will act as the hearts of the QC, but in general the QC needs to be self-serving in regards to their nation and species. Like Cyke said himself, running a nation and being the bastion of their species is bigger than what he wants. He's got the privilege to act like this because he's not in charge of policy making for their nation.
Of course, everyone has their own agendas as well, which allows for more potential storytelling.
