It was explained. The land originally existed as one called Okkarra. It was then split with the one we know being called Krakoa and the other half, Arakko . It remained dormant in the Pacific until nuclear testing awakened it and it then went on to do the events of GSX and was shot into space. Pieces of it fell to the Earth and grew into seperate beings, also called Krakoa. They would be used in several stories with the most noticeable one being in the WATXM run.

While this all happened, the main island was taken by the Stranger and experimented on until it was freed by Quasar and made its way back to the Pacific. Xavier traveled to it and offered and through Doug, convinced it to be the ground for the new nation

Now, it's back somehow(still unexplained), and it actually used to have a whole civilization of super-mutants on it until it was split apart by something(still fuzzy) and half of it teleported to another dimension?

That's hardly the weirdest event to come out of the Marvel universe

That doesn't relate at all to '75's Krakoa that got thrown into space.

Where did the bolded come from?

That is super obscure. But kind of cool. Was not aware of that either.

Its an abbreviated history of Krakoa that ties in the previous stories to Hickmans retcon, so yeah it does relate

So I read it and all it shows is that the Stranger had the son of Ego and Krakoa in a terrarium a million lights years from earth. Ego's son and some others flew out of their pods while Quasar and his allies were fighting the bad guys, but Krakoa is not shown among them.

So much for explaining how Krakoa got back to earth, stopped eating mutants, or developed teleportation flowers, let alone the vast inconsistency in origin stories.

well those plant guys from Empyre also had teleportation so I guess its just something certain special plant species are able to.

It pretty much amounted to a cameo for a couple of panels.

Wouldn't such teleportation flowers have been convenient when Krakoa was a mutant eater back in '75? Why wait for Cyke to gather more mutants by jet if Krakoa could've just sent out some crabs through portals to drag back infinite mutant snacks?
