Considering comics are torture porn though I'm also bracing myself for another genocide plot.
My guess is we're going to see Krakoa and "Moira" turning out to be some long game set up by Sinister, and that it's going to end with only certain X-men standing at the end, and having to deal with the fall out, or maybe some new forms of villains. And yeah I can see something kinda bleak, though he ended SW with a more hopeful note, so maybe we'll have the X-men return to finding a way to be better and re affirm their goal of getting humans and mutants on the same side.

love how the OP used a scene where a character proclaims their closeness to the culture they grew up with in tandem with their mutant identity. Which is, like, the opposite of assimilation. lmao

I think what they're saying is that scene isn't consistent with other scenes related to Krakoa, which is...not completely inaccurate.

I think not enough people understand fully how assimilation is or it looks like. Like right now, there's a huge issue in France where Middle Eastern people are being told they have to drop some of their cultural aspects in order to fit in with French culture. The problem is the way that it's being done there and I think that's part of the issue here as well. For someone like Dani you would think that she would want to retain her connection to her people and the history. Part of the issue is that if you know anything about Indigenous history around the world, you'd know how different European cultures forced the assimilation of the people, and for Dani to be saying this it seems way too weird because of her heritage. Like if she's told to choose between being Krakoa and her tribe, it would be really weird if they have her choose Krakoa over her own tribe. There's a lot more to building a nation then what Hickman and the others are showing that that, I think, is part of the problem with this whole set up.

Dani is literally saying she doesn't have to choose. The writer of that scene is actually Native American, of course she knows about Indigenous history and forced assimilation

She later goes on a small spiel about humans not creating anything, so its another example of mixed messages.

I think that part of the problem is the inconsistency that we’re getting with different writers telling the voices of some of the same characters. In one point, we basically have the characters basically declaring in one breath that their culture is better than that of humans while in another speaking of how they value their culture outside of Krakoan culture. It’s giving mixed messages while not really following the rule of ‘show, don’t tell’. As things stand, really only Wolverine and Dust are the most believable in making a statement of being a part of both cultures since they still walk in both worlds.

It really feels like each writer was given a different description of what Krakoa/it's culture is like.

It also feels like the writers basically went for the easy potshots at humanity feeling like the X-fans would eat that up. Kinda like a “Yea X-fans, humans suck. Ain’t that right? High five”.

yeah you can sorta see it in how some books will say no humans are allowed as its only for mutants despite how we literally have Northstar's husband living there, Shogo, Brian was invited by Betsy if he wanted, Broo and that friend of Forge in Marauders where they put him on Krakoa temporarily for protection. meanwhile books like Deadpool, FF and X-men mini, FF and Juggernaut has it sound like the mutants heavily forbid any non-mutants from being on.

Except when it's the same 2-3 haters who have been creating the same threads just using different words.

The rule is clear: Humans can live on Krakoa if they are invited by a mutant.

Nobody wants to invite Cain, Franklin or Deadpool.

Black Tom literally built a statue to his best-bud Cain. And Franklin was presumably friends with people not named Charles Xavier.
