    Default x men recommendations

I try to start from uncanny xmen 1, but don't like the old arts.
Where can I start for modern artwork?
    Want a good storyline, too.

My favorite period is between Giant Size X Men #1 to before New X Men.

All three of these are great starting points with modern aesthetics

Thanks. I feel if someone hasn't gotten into X-Men like that, these are the best choices. Astonishing is likely the best, that's how I got into X-Men; the other two do expect some more prior knowledge. With Astonishing, I think you're good if you've watched the 90's cartoon and/or Evolution.

Yeah totally, Astonishing is the most new reader friendly with a recognizable cast and stellar writing.
