Would a miniseries about DC’s married superhero Titan couple work?
They’ve never had one before.
Would a miniseries about DC’s married superhero Titan couple work?
They’ve never had one before.
Of course it could.
Unfortunately, there is a snowball's chance in Hell of ever seeing one!
The Titans franchise has pretty much been completely burnt to the ground and it's remaining ashes pissed all over.
Maybe if they appear in the TV series there would be a slim shot - but mate I wouldn't hold my breath!
"My name is Wally West. I'm the fastest man alive!"
I'll try being nicer if you try being smarter.
I would buy a Guardian and Bumblebee mini. The Herald gimmick is terrible.
Yes of course it could work.
If the writer is good at relationship/romance drama, yes.
december 21st has passed where are my superpowers?
It definitely could, i'm not sure if it'll be a hit but it has potential to be a damn good and much needed story.
Reading List (Super behind but reading them nonetheless):
DC: Currently figuring that out
Marvel: Read above
Image: Killadelphia, Nightmare Blog
Other: The Antagonist, Something is Killing the Children, Avatar: TLAB
Manga: My Hero Academia, MHA: Vigilanties, Soul Eater: the Perfect Edition, Berserk, Hunter X Hunter, Witch Hat Atelier, Kaiju No. 8
I'd read it! I love Bumblebee!
Currently(or soon to be) Reading: Alan Scott: Green Lantern, Batman/Superman: World's Finest, Fire & Ice: Welcome to Smallville, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, Jay Garrick: The Flash, Justice Society of America, Power Girl, Superman, Shazam, Titans, Wesley Dodds: Sandman, Wonder Woman, & World's Finest: Teen Titans.
Guardian over Herald, but yes. I agree the Titans franchise is a mess -- and has been for too many years to count. That said -- might be a good idea to feature the characters separately.
Always thought Mal was cooler as Guardian, but I'd be up for it.
I would buy it! DC really needs to show more respect for it's first black male and black female super-heroes! (I guess we should be thankful they've never been killed off in any of the Titans massacres over the years.)
Unfortunately, I don't see Mal ever taking the Guardian mantle back, especially with 'Future State' pushing Jake Jordan in the role.
I still to this day do not understand why Grant Morrison didn't use Mal in that role in 'Seven Soldiers'. With the exception of giving the girlfriend/wife character more agency (because Karen would obviously not be a wallflower) very little would have needed to change to put him in the role.
P.S. I don't think it takes much to improve Mal even without the Guardian identity. Most people seem to agree that he works better as the more down to earth street-fighter type character that he started off as, rather than the more gimmicky Herald, but I think he still needs a little something extra to make him stand out from the obviously more capable Robins and Nightwings of the world.
So I would marry his hand-to-hand fighting skills with the best power from his Herald/Hornblower power-set (his teleportation) and turn him into a micro-targeted, short-range teleportation fighter like Tempest (not the Garth/Aqualad one; the Christopher Champion one) from the old Atari Force comic. That was a very visually dynamic power that was strong but not overly so, and I think it would pair very well with Bumblebee's powers too.

I think that would be the best combination of all his identities, while respecting his past. As for a name, I'm not sure. If Donna Troy can go around without a super-hero name now, maybe Mal Duncan can just go back to the super-hero name he started off with: Mal.
It could work as long as the writer doesn't go overboarx with relationship drama.
