Default When Batman overcame the Black Lantern ring during Blackest Night....

was such an insult to Hal and GL fans. Hal was chosen specifically because of his willpower, that he became a Green Lantern. To write Batman as having more willpower than Hal, makes him null and void. That was stupid. I can accept Batman somehow being able to beat Clark, because some writers love to write Clark as the big dumb brute and Bruce the intellectual, even though Clark is a much better character than that, but stop propping Bruce up cause he sells or cause writers love the character. There's no need to do that. Let each hero have their own strengths and weaknesses. It's only fair to write Hal one upping Batman solving a case before he does.

Honestly, that probably doesn’t even crack the upper tier of dumb things DC’s done to shill Bats at other characters’ expense at this point.

Is this from Batman: Universe? Because Batman wasn't actually in Blackest Night (or at least Bruce wasn't).

This, because at this time Bruce was back in time and Dick was Batman.

Has it been explained yet how Death Metal Batman can use a Black Lantern ring and not turn into a murderous zombie? He looks like his normal self except for the added spikes on his costume.

    spoilers:
He's dead, so that's why he can use it. As for why he looks good, I think it was to preserve the reveal that he's a corpse. The very first issue of Snyder's Batman run has Dick wearing cloaking tech to look exactly like The Joker so it stands to reason he's probably doing that if you need an explanation in-universe.
    end of spoilers

Right but Black Lantern rings don’t just resurrect the dead and allow them to walk around like normal. They make the wearer a single minded murderous zombie.

Personally I just chalk it up to the escalation of DC. It is like a lot of things in the dc universe, at one point it was a serious threat, now its just overshadowed by the current danger. The Black Lanterns were a massive threat to the DC universe in Blackest Night but now they are used for a plot point to the bigger threat of someone trying to destroy and rewrite the Multiverse. Same thing with someone like Superboy Prime, it was a big deal when he punched the universe in Infinite Crisis and now he just casually does it.

Its the nature of the beast, what was once the big threat becomes smaller when the bigger threat arrives.

Haha basically the answer is “he’s Batman.”

They haven't flexed their writing muscles to provide an actual reason in twenty years so why start now when you can meme?
