Nanny's armour is just to help her fight since it has all her weapons. Apparently the X-Men don't the tech Nanny had before to surpress Peter's X-gene.

"Cable was right!"
In a world full of anti-mutant tech from bombs, to guns to collars to fields, it really is puzzling why they are making such a big issue out of getting his armor from the Right. Even odder bc when DOX started it seemed as if enemies having anti-power tech was a recurring thing being used across multiple books

I'm hoping they're making such a big deal, because as the story unfolds we'll learn more about exactly why Peter is so dangerous. What's more likely to happen is this is just an excuse for another story and location, however when the actual reasoning for why his X-gene is so dangerous is revealed. I would like to see Nanny interact with Hordeculture.
Maybe the enemy has got the RIGHT (pun intended) technology to neutralise Peter's power.
All this talk about Nanny makes me happy.

So I guess the suit is how they'll justify Nanny keeping control over Orphan Maker
