Anything can look like a stereotype if you twist it enough. If Diana were defined by being athletic you might have a point but that isn't the case. Otherwise, we might as well not make any female superheroes or action heroines lesbians at all. Diana doesn't even look like the typical butch lesbian athlete (not that such a character is remotely a bad thing). Having slight similarities to a stereotype does not make one a stereotype.




Being progressive is not just about being challenging. It is about normalizing the idea of people who aren't the majority. Whether or not Diana being bisexual would cause controversy (and I've seen enough pushback to know that it likely will), it doesn't matter because it adds to representation.

If you want Superman or Batman to be gay that badly, by all means argue for that. Don't use it to slam other representation people would want.

If Wonder Woman being bisexual were a stereotype (and it isn't), it would not receive half the support it did from LGBT fans.

Quality doesnt always equal sales unfortunately. The new creative team werent able to come in with WW in her status quo so its going to turn off readers. They have to rebuild that status quo but they are doing a great job at it.

She does. In fact many writters always say she is strong enough to trade blows with WW. But sadly trackrecord with Cheetah is not the best since many writers throw her under the bus. Similar to WW these days.

How can it be throwing her under the bus when she has no strengths feats? Many characters have thrown Diana around and traded blows with Diana. Heck, the biggest fight Diana ever had vs Cheetah was in #31 right? In issue 34 Shim'tar does things far more impressive and totally outclasses Cheetah.

What many characters did the same to WW? And what were their powers? If they are humans like batman, catwoman, green arrow when they beat up Cheetah. That is just bad writing and it has no meaning at all.

Good god, can you stop with the strength feats of Cheetah? If she can trade blows with Wonder Woman then she is superstrong.

We can't help that Wonder Woman's rogues are an opportunity for the Batman writers to get one 'over' on her by trashing her villains.
