Default Calvary Comics - Christian books, graphic novels, tracts, & posters

Alec Stevens here. I am the publisher of Calvary Comics, and our latest release is C. T. Studd: Cricketer & Missionary, a 48 page full color graphic novel drawn by veteran illustrator Edmund Julian of Cornwall, UK.

Charles Thomas Studd (1860-1931) was a famous athlete in Victorian England who, after receiving Christ as his Saviour, set aside his cricket career and went to China as one of the Cambridge Seven to assist Hudson Taylor with evangelism. There Studd met his wife, originally from Ireland, and after some years they moved on to ministry in India and finally the Democratic Republic of Congo (its current name), Africa where Studd and his coworkers led many to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Alec Stevens here. Sadhu Sundar Singh is a full color, 48 page graphic novel which I wrote and illustrated. "Sadhu" means "holy man" in India, and Sundar Singh is a rather common name in northern India, particularly Punjab and adjacent regions. Synopsis: the true story of a wealthy Sikh in post-Victorian India who becomes a penniless follower of Jesus Christ. Genuine signs and wonders follow this man of God as he brings the Gospel message into then-forbidden Tibet and surrounding regions, often imperiling his own life. A riveting and unforgettable testimony.

    E. J. Pace: Christian Cartoonist is today's featured volume. Six years in the making, this 250 page biography contains hundreds of Dr. Pace's magnificent drawings and many rare photographs. During his temporal life (1879-1946) he was a United Brethren missionary to the Philippines, Director of the Missionary Course at the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, and editorial cartoonist for The Sunday School Times and numerous other Christian periodicals for four decades. His artwork was often used in support of his itinerant Bible teaching ministry throughout the world. A seminal Christian comics pioneer and a truly great man of God.

From Puddle to Paradise? is a 450 page compendium of the writings of Rev. B. H. Shadduck, PhD, who self-published booklets from 1923 to 1948, dealing with creation vs. evolution and fundamentalism vs. modernism and other, similar topics. He was an old-time Methodist holiness preacher whose fine mind and wry wit were not unlike Mark Twain or O. Henry, as his writing demonstrates, but with a reverence for the Lord Jesus Christ and sound Biblical exposition. Dr. Shadduck's booklets featured single (and multi-) panel cartoons by F. W. Alden and others which served as a memorable visual complement to his points.

Alec Stevens here. "Unshackled!" is the longest running radio drama (since 1950) on the airwaves. In it voice actors portray the true testimony of individuals who have come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. "Unshackled!" is a ministry of the Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago, Illinois, USA, and several comics tracts have been produced as well. I illustrated "The True Story of John Hauff" which PGM printed and distributed (over 20,000 copies). In fact, through PGM it is sold out and no longer available. We have a small supply available at the Calvary Comics website.

The tract is 15 pages in length, the opening portion of which can be seen here:
