[Synthetic Innocence]

For the love of Rahne Sinclair, the fundamentalist scots raised redhead, daughter of a priest and a prostitute, Rahne is unwanted and became a ward of the church.

With the mutant power of lycanthrope which manifested at the age of 14 Rahne shifted and ran to escape a mob lead by her father who were hell bent on burning her at the stake.

Running into Moira MacTaggert as she ran in her lupine form form, saved her life. MacTaggert, recognizing Rahne as a mutant when her form shifted back to human after she passed out, took the young girl into her home.

Moira took care of Rahne and later adopted her, bring her to Muir Island. Her upbringing in the church made her extremely shy and repressed. Through a chain of events Rahne would come to be a member of the New Mutants at the Xavier Institute along side four other young mutants. Danielle Moonstar (Mirage originally code named Psyche), Samuel Guthrie (Cannonball), Xi'an Coy Manh (Karma), and Roberto De Costa (Sunspot).

Rahne first appears in Maverick Graphic Novel #4.

Rahne later joined X-Factor, taught at Xavier's academy in New X-Men and joined X-Force.

And she is involved with the Fenrir's son, Hrimhari, who is the grandson of Loki. I wonder why no one takes note that Hrimhari is Loki's grandson which would make Wolfsbane his granddaughter in law.

There is that little tibit that Loki actually that he at one time forced them to wear the collars of obedience which turned them into two monstrous wolves called Grimfang and Bleakheart. I do wonder if Loki is aware that Hrimhari is his grandson because that is kind of a really dick thing to do a family member. But then again Loki seems to have hundreds or even thousands of descendants so it would probably be easy for him to lose track of them.

Poor Rahne with her love life. It was bad from the very beginning. First she's in love with Sam Guthrie and he's just completely clueless.

Then she falls for Cypher and he gets killed.

She has an affair with a student...

I LOVE RAHNE.

Definitely one of my top fave of Claremont's New Mutants. Even with her religious guilt and conflict throughout the series, she's precious.
