For the love of Rahne Sinclair, the fundamentalist scots raised redhead, daughter of a priest and a prostitute, Rahne is unwanted and became a ward of the church.
With the mutant power of lycanthrope which manifested at the age of 14 Rahne shifted and ran to escape a mob lead by her father who were hell bent on burning her at the stake.
Running into Moira MacTaggert as she ran in her lupine form form, saved her life. MacTaggert, recognizing Rahne as a mutant when her form shifted back to human after she passed out, took the young girl into her home.
Moira took care of Rahne and later adopted her, bring her to Muir Island. Her upbringing in the church made her extremely shy and repressed. Through a chain of events Rahne would come to be a member of the New Mutants at the Xavier Institute along side four other young mutants. Danielle Moonstar (Mirage originally code named Psyche), Samuel Guthrie (Cannonball), Xi'an Coy Manh (Karma), and Roberto De Costa (Sunspot).
Rahne first appears in Maverick Graphic Novel #4.
Rahne later joined X-Factor, taught at Xavier's academy in New X-Men and joined X-Force.
