The patch notes read like a novel. So much to add and fix

There will be a Phantom Liberty reveal soon, probably with gameplay footage and a release date.

Will be starting my new character when I get home to take advantage of the 2.0 update.

Reviews and videos I have been sneaking at work today look promising.

    Any thoughts on Phantom Liberty?

Thought it was pretty good, as usual the story requires some hard choices to be made with different outcomes, Elba's pretty good as Reed but the real stand out with Minji Chang as Songbird. Also Keanu gets a bit more to do. Gameplay also requires a bit more stealth at times (especially towards the end which feels a lot like playing ALIEN ISOLATION with computer puzzles while keeping an eye out for a foe) and the game basically starts with a LOT of platforming.

The plot is basically ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK with some Bond elements to start but changes to a more complex moral quandery about 75% of the way through.

The ending credits are basically a tribute to Daniel Craig's Bond opening credits, with some elements almost lifted verbatim from his last three films.

There's also a full (Well, NES run and gun length so around 30-45 minutes although there's infinite continues with no Konami code needed) new CONTRA-style arcade game you can play, TRAUMA DRAMA.

Does it work well coming back more than a year later to just play the DLC? Or do you think it would work better folded into a new playthrough?

Not sure, really. They did release a new patch which changes some aspects of the gameplay to prep for the DLC, mainly the health and throwable weapons and the skill tree is entirely changed (You have to redo it from scratch using your available points), although I don't know many of the specifics.

They add some new content to regular Night City as well, mainly some endings to previous storylines that weren't there before.

There is also a alternate ending you can choose added to the game when you complete the DLC that can bypass the "Nocturne" final mission entirely with an extra alternate fate for V and Johnny.

Now I kind of wish I hadn't already played the game.

Well, Spider-Man first in any case.
