It's been speculated for a while that this show's purpose is to finally find a way to retire Clint and push Kate forward as THE Hawkeye in the MCU, and I think their wardrobe could be a hint of that. She's clearly dressed as a hero, while he looks like he's ready to pack it up and go home anytime now.

I think we're gonna get flashbacks of his time as Ronin, at least.
