I liked it, I thought the Red Hood story was by far the best chapter.

I've enjoyed Zdarsky story a lot.
I like the structure of the book. Harley story is a totally skip for me but in the future there are some more interesting featuring. I'm hooked for now.
Ugh. I'm not really keen on this book being used to shove characters that can't sell on their own down our throats. I don't mind red hood because he's dope but I don't care about batgirl or batwoman or most of the family for that matter. I would much rather be batman stories. If after the red hood story this devolves into ivy/harley/batgirl etc I'm dropping it.
thats kinda a ridiculous take considering there are like 7 Batman focused books. why would they waste an anthology book churning out stories for a character who already has more than an anthology's worth of story currently being published? honestly, you'd probably be better off dropping it now, and just read the Batman title or Detective comics, or Batman: The Detective, or Batman/Superman, or...

Agreed. Ragging on the 1 Gotham/Batman book out of a half-dozen or so for actually acknowledging and respecting the fact that the Batman Universe is more evolved and complex than just Bruce Wayne is ridiculously unfair. Not only does saying or implying that show disrespect to all the other characters and heroes who help make the Bat-verse the spectacular thing it truly is and can be, along with disrespecting the fans and readers who do like or even prefer the Bat-verse outside the strict and sole purview of Bruce, but when you factor in all of the other titles being released at the same time (and that have been released in the recent and not-so-recent past) that do focus primarily if not exclusively on Bruce and his exploits, the sentiment also begins to reek of reader/fan entitlement.
Cinematic storytelling is 2-3 hours every 2-3 years at best. Even Nolan ended adding a Robin like figure. The myth is limited to beginnings but the longer it goes the more bat character adds.
In comics Batman has 5-6 books every month, there is a lot of room to diverse storytelling, with a wider cast ,and richter mythos.
It's not like they are tricking anyone to buy something they don't want when they tell you well in advanced what the book is going to be about and who is going to be in it.
Why are people complaining about Batman being in the title, despite not actually being in the book? Nobody’s forcing you to pick it up, so move along for those who have/will.
Except most of those books are flooded with the same characters. So it's not a ridiculous take. It's reality. Lmfao.. We need a book that's just straight batman doing batman things/being a detective. I'm really tired of the other characters. I'm also really tired now badly they are written.
I'm down for zdarsky red hood because he's a legit writer. Outside of that the rest of the book was trash. Ridiculous hot take and all!
