RICHARD RIDER
As a teenager, Richard Rider inherited the powers of Nova from a dying Nova Prime. Early on in his career, he fought crime as the Human Rocket but was called to space to serve the Nova Corps. He eventually returned to Earth and became a founding member of the New Warriors, but when the Annihilation Wave threatened Xandar, the home of the Nova Corps, Richard left Earth once again. However, the Annihilation Wave destroyed Xandar, leaving Richard as the sole survivor of the Nova Corps, imbuing him with the full power of the Nova Force. Fearing that the power within him would overwhelm him, Richard allied himself with the Worldmind, a living computer within the Nova Force, in order to control his new powers. He eventually partnered with Peter Quill in forming a group meant to battle greater cosmic threats in the galaxy, the Guardians of the Galaxy.
SAM ALEXANDER
Aspiring to follow in his father's footsteps to protect the galaxy, young Sam Alexander joined the Nova Corps, an intergalactic peacekeeping force. The Nova Force grants him strength, speed, and the ability to fly, hence the nickname "The Human Rocket."
