Characters tend to get neglected once you include more than six. I try to push quality more than quantity. I think you break trust with your audience when you promise so and so will be in the book and that so and so has no interesting interactions, doesn't drive the plot forward, or is treated as secondary.
The Justice League or Crime Syndicate can be as massive as you want, just break them up into cells of 6 or fewer when there's not a massive event. Each cell could carry its own book, and characters could rotate between cells.
Perhaps it should indeed be like that, but this neither answers my question not is it always accurate when it comes to working with corporate characters. Writers don't usually get to write whatever stories they want or use any characters they like, whether it's Elseworlds stories or not. Mark Waid for instance wanted to use Hal as the representative GL in Kingdom Come but DC didn't allow it despite that it was an Elseworlds tale so he decided to use Alan instead. So I think it makes sense to ask about "how" different the multiversal landscape will be after yet another "Nothing will ever be the same" type of event.
It sounds like the backup story for each issue will be the origin of a different member.
Atomica kind of looks like a female counterpart of Ryan Choi, but maybe it's just a short-haired Rhonda Pineda.

Can someone explain Power Ring's symbol to me? Is it an X? Is it a Butterfly?
I'm totally in. Sounds like it could be a lot of fun. It's also a pleasant surprise. It seems like we were due for another Bat-related announcement...sigh...

Why can't TPTB give Johnny Quick a good costume?!?
