Clark's journal... so cool.

The journal is another element I hope carries on past the Warworld Saga. It’s the most we’ve gotten of Clark’s writing in ages.

Quick issue but some highlights:

-Love how much of the run has taken pains to touch on every side of Superman, including the Kryptonian side. Seeing him build Kryptonian toys for the Phaelosians to get in touch with their heritage is a nice character moment

-So Orphan and Darling merged together as a result of the Source Wall explosion, and Orphan is a conduit of Source energy because of that

-Mother jobbing like that was a bit anticlimatic but she was already weakened by Orphan’s Source blasts and it makes Mongul look tough so I’m ok with it. Plus Mongul already has her replacement ready to go in “Darkray”. Bet OMAC is regretting taking that deal now

-Love seeing Steel back in the thick of things with the Superfamily again, looks like his research into Source energy will be key to Clark’s ultimate triumph. I’m happy that he seems to have the New 52 upgrades still, like the “steel skin”.

-Conduit is back! And he’s going to be powered by Genesis now! That is EXACTLY what I wanted to happen, he was always a cool villain held back by how he was just another Kryptonite user. His origin is going to need some revamping, but it’s great to have him back in play. Man having someone who is eager to play with all of Superman’s Rogues is such a nice change of pace

Finally caught up on this epic saga and feel like I can finally read this thread lol, PKJ is crafting a story we'll be talking about for years to come. Love just how inspiring Superman is in this.

The newest issue was great, I was surprised Mother went out like that with how the story was building her up.

On one hand I'm not really happy about these Mongul guys dropping like flies, but on the other hand when **** starts to crumble it accelerates.

And explosion in source wall? Was this due to Snyder's metal events?

Yeah she went out sad, but if PKJ wants to use his OCs to make Mongul look good, I can’t really complain. Usually it’s the reverse.

was Mongul always capable of dealing with her that easily, or was the because of #Superman and his Allies beforehand?

Most likely always. At least since he killed his dad and took his chestpiece. Wanted to show what that dude is capable of.

Basically it was after he got the power boost from wearing his dad’s armor that he became so much more powerful than her, explaining why he couldn’t beat her easily before.

Metal is what caused the Source Wall to explode and the aftermath of that was in No Justice

Really enjoyed the latest Action Comics issue ! They've all been really very good !!!
One thing that stood out for me, was when Clark was talking about his son and saying that Jon is all grown up now.
Clark looked sad �� when talking about his son.
Wonder if anyone picked that up or just me looking for something ?

I mean his "perfect world" is him & 13 year old Jon being a batman & robin duo
He lost his son and the one who came back is tonally and emotionally different that it might as well be a different person

Yeah they’re definitely not shying away from showing that Clark is still affected by what happened, and I believe PKJ mentioned on Twitter that the point of that was to show that Clark is still upset about what happened on some level.

is your next arc in Action Comics going to be as long as "The Warworld Saga"? Or is it going to be shorter??

Shorter. But if they keep letting me write more Superman, there'll be plenty more arcs after that. I don't have anything else currently planned that would be as long as Warworld Saga, but maybe down the line

This question made me think of a really cool team-up/match-up you'd never guess in a million years, and I'm real excited to do it. But now I can't tell you because it's gonna happen. I'll try to remember to circle back to this in like a year and tell you "this was that thing"

reality rewrite after Dark Crisis. Chances are this is PJK is referrring to when he says he's hopeful he'll be allowed to write more arcs...aka be the one in charge of a relaunch of the line.
