Default Please clarify the new status quo of the DCU for me...

...So as I am to understand it, Superman now remembers EVERYTHING, from Action #1 onward? Wonder Woman remembers it all, from Wonder Tot to the 70's Kung Fu phase? The Phantom Stranger recalls being Judas for a hot minute alongside his vague origins? Barry Allen met Jay Garrick by accidentally traversing universes but he also has memories of Jay as an active hero and inspiration as he grew up. Is Mopee back, also? Am I understanding this correctly?

I hope I'm wrong because otherwise what's the point of establishing Diana as the first hero when everything happened? Why not just leave Clark in that spot if we're accepting everything from Action #1 on as canon and all the previous retcons are now 'events' the heroes recall that altered history without altering their memories?

as of right now in Death Metal, it's still the post-Flashpoint landscape but everyone just remembers everything from before and throughout each crisis. they know everything we know.
THE SIGNAL (Duke Thomas) is DC's secret shonen protagonist so I made him a fandom wiki

also, check out "The Signal Tape" a Duke Thomas fan project.

    currently following:
    • DC: Red Hood: The Hill
    • Marvel: TBD
    • Manga (Shonen/Seinen): One Piece, My Hero, Dandadan, Jujutsu Kaisen, Kaiju No. 8, Reincarnation of The Veteran Soldier, Oblivion Rouge, ORDEAL, The Breaker: Eternal Force

Wonder Woman the first hero was a concept they created when building 5G when they want to establish a new timeline that includes as much as possible, but with Didio out and 5G canceled, the new timeline is no longer a must.

Meanwhile, Snyder who likes lore wants everything to be included.

Jim Lee announced that moving forward DC will focus on character first and not worry about continuity. That's the plan for 2021 onward. That doesn't mean there won't be continuity, just that they're not gonna bother making a tight timeline, concrete backstories, or stuff like that. More creative freedom, less headache.

I doubt they'll remember everything heading into March. Their fourth wall-like breaking probably won't last beyond Death Metal. Like a lot of people figured, I think it'll more be a situation that isn't even really new: from the talent's perspective everything counts at least to the degree they feel the need to reference something. Without any necessary explanation of how it can still have happened.
