I fear that Cable is not coming back.

He's basically been replaced with his younger self.

And I utterly hate it with a passion!

Didn't Marvel do that with Iron Man a few years ago, too?

I hated how Ennis treated Billy Butcher at the end of The Boys.

Each time the characterization of a comic character is changed, he or she is, in a way, killed… maybe forever.

They did. I don't see this young Cable sticking around too long. Part of Cable's charm was that he was a grizzled bad ass bastard

Ragnar Lodbrok on Vikings. I completely lost interest in the show after that.

Zee - Orange is the New Black
    Killmonger - Black Panther (MCU)
Cottonmouth - Luke Cage (Netflix series)
Got upset over Nephlite's death in Sailor Moon as a kid but looking back he was creepy.
Rei - Fist of the North Star (he was a jerk but he began to change only to be killed in the end)
Most of the Voodoos in American Horror Story: Coven - they just showed up to be cannon fodder wtf? Didn't like how they handled Marie Laveau either. What a waste of talent.
Ted Kord's death was pointless but these days I don't care.

You hated that they killed Killmonger? May I ask why?

From a strictly "I Don't Dig That You Have Decided How Much I Will Know About This Character..." angle -

    - Wylie Times/100 Bullets
    - Milo Garret/100 Bullets

Yeah that movie wiped out several of my favorites, I hadn't seen any cartoon characters die up until that point so it was really a shock for me.

Starscream was the one I hated to see go the most, but at least he (and Prime) came back in later episodes.

I very much enjoyed his delicious meltdown resulting from his dismissal. That whole "Tiger Blood" & "Adonis DNA" memes was just absolutely legendary. I wish him only the best.

L from Death Note, loved that series but after that it was all down hill.

Agent 355, Y the last Man. I'm not sure there was a point aside to kick the reader in the balls. Still love the series, but still just a kick in the balls. Ampersand too for that matter.

Hicks and Newt. Alien 3. Waste of fantastic characters. Any Alien sequel that wants to ignore Alien 3 is welcome to imo.

KILLMONGER WAS RIGHT - but I'm kidding. Or am I...

But seriously, he had potential as a villain and I felt it was a waste to get rid of him like that. Should've had him start his own country like he did in the comics. It would be cool to see the contrast between Killmonger's approach and T'Challa's. I mean if Loki got to come back as a villain why get rid of Killmonger in his first movie?

And Jerry hated him for it.

    That movie was brutal.
