Is Rey´s overpowered character the main reason why the sequels are bad?

I'd say the sequels are good movies but fail as a follow-up to the original. Their main fault is that they are too nostalgic for the original series. Whatever potential for new ground the sequels had never materialized.

Honestly I wish we kept the cast of Rogue One and made them our leads instead of Rey/Finn/Poe. Or they should've saved Ashoka for the sequels than putting her in the prequels.

The Force has always been a problem for Star Wars. I don't really know how it works so I can't get invested when it doesn't. It's poorly defined and more of a deus ex machina.

No. Rey is fine in the two that I have seen. I like her character.

For me it is the excruciating Kylo Ren who makes them bad (and that is not bad as in good).
