Having Reis back after last issue just shows how key the artist is to the whole process. That spread with the film showing other worlds was breathtaking and I think he’s the only one who could’ve pulled it off. Yang writes good scripts, I love his voice for Etrigan, but he plus Reis elevate the book to greatness. The Superman Robots as the most powerful weapon on Earth was a cool twist, didn’t see that coming, I was expecting nukes.

Also after that scene between Dick and Superman I really do hope Yang is doing the Robin and Batman book, he’s a great writer for Dick as Robin.

I was expecting something Phantom Zone-related, but Superman robots are even better.

Loved the whole "silent horror movie" aesthetic with Etrigan. That Nosferatu reference had me cheering.

This series has been SO FUN to work on. I’m incredibly sad I had to leave bc of other projects. Ivan and Danny and Sabine are GOATs
Fingers crossed one of those other projects is Superman related.

One would hope, but I have a pretty awful feeling he's getting pulled over to Marvel.

I’m sure Marvel is offering him more work, but I also think DC may be offering him more stuff as well. We shall see, he still has a Monkey Prince project at DC I believe. At least he’s leaving on his own terms.

Given how much he loves Superman, if he's leaving the book I can only assume he feels creatively satisfied with Superman Smashes the Klan and wasn't offered the Superman project he wanted, so he bounced. He seemed to be enjoying Batman/Superman so I doubt it was an easy decision, but either way I'm glad he's getting projects he wants instead of having to take what he's given.

I mean he could have been offered a Superman project. Seeley is doing a Black Label Superman book, Waid seemingly is as well, it’s possible Yang is doing another standalone Superman project. We will just have to wait and see.

He's been writing Shang-Chi since last year.

This run has the best Robin I've read in years!

Honestly, it just makes me miss this kind of Robin.

Likewise. Damian has proven to be a chore to read as Robin. Flashbacks to Dick's tenure always remind me of how satisfying a proper Robin was to read.

I really hope Yang is working on something else at DC. He wasn’t on R&B like I wanted. Maybe he’s got another standalone Superman/DC project? Would be wild if he took over Batman from Tynion.

From current DC's writers Yang would be my favourite on Batman as well, but you never know, we might get Bendis instead.
