That would be Spawn. While I haven't read anything Spawn-related since the 90's, I still remember - being a huge fan of McFarlane on Hulk and, especially, Spider-man - the impact this character made on me back then.

Not sure if it is all time favorite but I like a lot of the old characters(Tarzan, John Carter, Green Hornet, Shadow).

The Dynamite series of Lone Ranger comics(particularly those written by Brett Matthews and illustrated by Sergio Cariello) were a great retelling, getting a true Western feel and a comic I often give/recommend to comic newbies who want something other than superheroes(but still heroic).

As a child in the 1950s I adored comics about the Lone Ranger, guiding a wagon train and telling stories about his horse Silver as a colt, and later as a wild stallion. I never noticed who wrote them. And I didn't ask who told the Lone Ranger the stories. Silver?

My older sister used to tease me about my devotion to the Lone Ranger radio program. And my younger sister once mortified me by a innocently asking, "Does the Lone Ranger ever go to the bathroom?"

I get that it isn't a single character (although if pushed, Donatello), but I absolutely love the current IDW TMNT. They feel a lot darker than usual, closer to realistic morality. The supporting characters are also really well done and the storytelling is just awesome. However, it is primarily that I love the relationship between the turtles, and I particularly like Donatello simply because I am the Donatello of pretty much any group of people that I am involved with, and I relate to him a lot. Jeez. Now I have to reread it
