Default [blank] was unquestionably the smartest sentient in the room

So, I've been reading comics, I've been watching movies, I've been reviewing television. They're a ton of scenarios where somebody is set up as the smartest character in the room.

    Who is the Grand Champ?

Sherlock Holmes is a good candidate.

It's also the basic plot of Enders Game.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

I was hoping for something more specific?

    So many mysteries...
    • Knives Out had Benoit Blanc.
    • Usual Suspects- Keyser Soze.
    • Michael Corleone in The Godfather.
    • Michael Smiley in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
    • Lorraine in Atomic Blonde
    • Ozymandias in Watchmen.
    • Batman in every other comic.
    • Spock on Star Trek.
    • Hannibal Lecter
    • Tyrion Lannister from Game of Thrones (provided he's written by GRRM and not showrunners)
    • Reed Richards
    • T'Challa
    • Lex Luthor
    • Hermione Granger in Harry Potter is pretty ahead of the curve.
    • And, if you've never read him, the Dr. Emil Burbank issue of Supreme Power back in the day... JMS wrote one of the most terrifying depictions of a hyper-intelligent person I think I've ever read. Hannibal Lecter without the culinary peculiarities terrifying.

Sherlock has a vast collection of stories, I was wondering if there was a particular story. Ender I got, because it was a self contained story.

Buckaroo Banzai in Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension
Adrian/Ozymandias in Watchmen (just the original story, not the stuff that DC has recently done)

Batman is almost always the smartest person in the room, so most of his stories would work actually. Superman is supposed to be the smartest person in the room, due to his super-intelligence, but ironically he is hardly ever depicted that way in his stories.

I see. Not sure I can remember which story he was particularly brilliant. Maybe any of the Sherlockphiles her can chime in.

Lex Luthor in Superman 1, until Clark gets the better of him in Superman 2.

Rick Sanchez from Rick & Morty or The Doctor from Doctor Who are good contenders, as is Brainiac 5 from DC and Mister Peabody from Rocky and Bullwinkle.

Sheldon Cooper from BBT. I remember an episode they were at a bar. it was one of the few times Sheldon had a drink. he comes up with this great idea and Leonard says.
"Man even drunk you are still smarter then the rest of us."
