Well thats not true, X-Men today introduced the Great Ring (Arakkos Council), that the two islands are not interested in becoming one and there are about twenty times the amount of mutants on Arakko than on Krakoa..
This rules out any characters from Arakko being part of Krakoas Quiet Council.at

Considering the political situation with Arakko and the need to project power vis a vis the other island I think the field of potential candidates has narrowed considerably. So to me Selene's chances have gone way up while Dani's chances have gone way down.

I think indeed Sunspot should be replacing Sebastian Shaw. Have Namor take the spot of Apocalypse, (seems very logic to me) and have Redroot the Forest be there to represent Arakko, like Cypher does for Krakoa. Colossus or Banshee should replace Jean.

Then EACH team will have a Captain (does not need to be the leader of the team);

I think either Hickman or White in one of the latest X-Men Mondays hinted there would be more QC departures - at the time I assumed Sebastian Shaw was a goner and perhaps Sinister as well, but it looks like both are safely in place for the foreseeable future. So now I'm wondering if someone might leave the QC to be voted for the X-Men instead, for example Ororo, Kate or Kurt?

I'm all for Kurt getting out of there, because he's low-drama, and that's kinda dull for a Council position. Move him into more of a religious figure role, one, like Cypher, adjacent to the Council, but not sitting in one of the 12 chairs.

If this was the real world, I'd want 12 Kurts on my Council, 'cause he's so sane and reasonable and kind and all things good. But for a fantasy world I don't have to live in, give me the messy dramatic choice that will end in tears every time.

If he hadn't snubbed them at the Gala Id guess Namor. They fucked up by asking him before Mars was revealed, since now that he's said No there's no way he's crawling back after the fact
